            Aerial Rig Specifications

All rigs are done in Powder Coat paint which is MUCH more durable,

Up to 20 feet  high, .

Does not require floor mounting plates or guy wires for non swinging acts.
This rig is NOT intended for swinging type acts. Must be guyed out to anchors in ground for any swinging.
Some moderate light  swinging is OK as long as the swings stay within the boundaries of the legs.
For any king of swinging and spinning like Spanish Web guy wires are advised..

Able to hang Single/Doubles Trapeze, Web, Lyra .
Easily set up or moved by a few people. All steel.

( Investigating making legs of Alum.  Header would remain as STEEL.  Be ware of welded aluminum headers, Although
welded aluminum can be very strong, When alum. is welded it loses it's temper and needs to be RE-TEMPERED
after welding. Also welded alum joints should be reinforced with gussets to spread stress point if joints are 'butt' joints.
Cost of Alum legs would be considerably higher.)

Loads

These rigs were intended to be used by individuals for practice, by performers and schools, for light duty performances, to be easily transported and set up by just a few people.

For the BIG organizations doing BIG performances, with major big tricks should consider a very high end rig costing usually in the $10,000-$20,000 + + range.  That meaning, do not use ANY light weight tripod or quad rig from any of the rig manufacturers of basic freestanding portable rigs.

NEVER have more than one performer on the rig when doing DROPS!

Quad rig
         16ft-20 ft high
                Static load, SWL=  400 lbs
Dynamic load, SWL=  1200 lbs     Rolls, soft drops. short bomb drops.
Not advised to do BIG drops that generate very high shock loads, like Long bomb drops.
Estimated breaking load about 1900 lbs
This means, with
1 performer weighing 120 lbs and with rig breaking point about 1900lb the safety factor is about 15:1
1 performer weighing 150 lbs and with rig breaking point about 1900lb the safety factor is about 12:1
2 performers weighing 300 lbs total and with rig breaking point about 1900lb the safety factor is about 6:1,
That is why Drops not allowed with 2 performers, plus they can bump into each other.

A BOMB DROP of about 6 ft generates 800-900 lbs of dynamic shock load.
Therefore 1 performer doing a bomb drop, 800lb and rig at 1900lbs, safety factor is 2.3:1
AGAIN, That is why Drops not allowed with 2 performers, plus they can bump into each other.

Rolls generate much less shock load, maybe only about 300-400 lbs

         20 high
                 Static load, SWL=  350 lbs
Dynamic load, SWL=  1000lbs     Rolls, soft drops. short bomb drops.
Not advised to do BIG drops that generate very high shock loads, like Long bomb drops.
Estimated breaking load about 1700 lbs

WARNING!!
When used for 2 performers of aerials,
NEVER do DROPS with 2 people on rig.
NEVER have 2 people on a rig set up to over 20 ft. high.

TriPod rig
         16ft-19 ft high
                Static load, SWL=  300 lbs
Dynamic load, SWL=  800 lbs     Rolls, soft drops. short bomb drops.
Not advised to do BIG drops that generate very high shock loads, like Long bomb drops.
Estimated breaking load about 1200 lbs

20ft high, TriPods should never be set up more than 20 ft. Extension feet are just for height options under 20 ft.
                 Static load, SWL=  275 lbs
Dynamic load, SWL=  600 lbs     Rolls, soft drops. short bomb drops.
Not advised to do BIG drops that generate very high shock loads, like Long bomb drops.
Estimated breaking load about 1000 lbs

Height of rig

Height of rig is determined by how many legs sections you decide to  put on
and the extension of the adjustable extension feet.
.

The  16 ft rig comes with 12 leg sections, allowing for up to 3 sections per corner.
Each leg section  results in 5.6 ft in rig height per 6 ft section.
The 5.5ft extension feet will add about 4 more feet in height,

Sizing Heights and Footprint Chart :

This is approx height from ground to  of Eyebolt. (not to top of rig)
Distance from eyebolt to very top of rig is approx. 5-6 " higher.
(this come into play if setting up indoors.)

                                                                        Quad                             Tripod
      one leg section per corner  =  5.8   ft,             5' x 8'
      two sections per corner     =  11.2  ft,            9' x 12'                     9' x 7.5
      three sections per corner   =  16.2    ft         14' x 17'                    14 x 12
The following is for people that bought oled rig that came with 4 legsectios per corner but no extension feet.
Sometimes some people later ordered extension feet for moer height adjustment options.
For those situations, DO NOT set up to over 20 ft high, which meand do NOT extend the feet if using all for leg sections.
It is even better to just use 3 leg sections with feet extended (easier to set up that way)
four sections per corner    =   21.2 ft.          19' by 22'
with 4 leg section in each corner,  DO NOT extend the extension feet
Because that takes rig too high and severely reduces load strength.
Do not set up a rig to higher than 21 ft.                 .

Add'l height choices are available by using the
5.5 ft Adjustable extension feet, adding up too approx. 4 FT height

      one   6' leg section + and extension feet fully extended     =     10.5 ft.,         7' x 10'
      two   6' leg section + and extension feet fully extended     =     14.2 ft,      12 x 15'           12 x 10
      three 6' leg section + and extension feet fully extended      =    19.2 ft,      17' x 20'           16 x 14
Do not set up higher that 20 ft,

NOTE:  When rig is at the 20 ft , set-up  starts getting difficult due to add'l weight and height and is highly advised to have several strong people available to help lift and add leg sections.
